CHIRP Setup Guide

  1. Open CHIRP and download your radio's current configuration.
  2. Select an unused channel slot (e.g., Channel 20).
  3. Set Frequency to 462.700000 and Name to GRAHAM700.
  4. Set Duplex to + and Offset to 5.000000.
  5. Set Tone Mode to TSQL (or Tone for TX only).
  6. Set Tone & ToneSql to 118.8 Hz.
  7. Set Mode to FM (Wideband 25 kHz) and Power to High.
  8. Upload to your radio and perform a quick signal test!
Tone Squelch (TSQL): Setting the output tone to 118.8 Hz keeps your radio quiet until the Graham 700 repeater transmits, eliminating background static or adjacent channel interference.

FCC Licensing Made Simple

GET A LICENSE

To get a General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) license, create an account on the FCC Registration System (CORES) to get an FRN. Then, log in to the FCC Universal Licensing System (ULS), apply for a new license by choosing code ZA, and pay the $35 fee. There is no test required, and the license lasts 10 years for you and your immediate family.

Go to CORES and register with your personal details to receive your unique 10-digit FCC Registration Number.
